| What is Family
Practice? |
Family Practice is a medical specialty that
enables the healthcare provider to deliver
comprehensive and continuing health care for the
entire family. The family physician or
nurse practitioners will be able to treat
persons of both sexes and of all ages including
infants, children, teens, adults and seniors.
They provide health promotion, disease
prevention, patient education, health
maintenance, and treatment of acute and chronic
illnesses in a variety of health care settings.
The family physician and nurse practitioners
also serve as patient advocates in
health-related matters, including the
appropriate use of consultants and community
resources. |
